Assessing eubanks power

Sustained punching is what he has, which is far worse for opponent then a quick clean KO.

Like calzaghe he just overwhelms opponents and breaks them down. Beats degale, Saunders and Smith. Not ready for GGG just yet as gets bit sloppy with lead left lunging hook and is open to counter.

 

Awful. Cannot box. Limited power. Gets hit a lot.

Don't fall for the hype.

Jr is just the latest son of a famous dad getting a free ride.

To his credit, however, he is super fit, well conditioned and aggressive. He's not afraid to get stuck in, but that will likely go against him when he faces world class opposition.

Golovkin, DeGale, Ward and the like all beat him easily.

 

Saunders schools him again and DeGale and Smith make mincemeat out of him.

 

"Schooled again" by bjs??? I had CEJ winning that fight, the reason some score for bjs was because if bjs wasn't dominated in a round he was given that round.

Expectations plays with many people's minds, even losing all common sense and cognitive thinking abilities

 

DeGale lost all his front teeth he gets hit so much. There was calls for him to retire out of concerns for his own safety. Him and Junior is a 50/50 fight. Ward beats everybody from 160 -168 so i don't understand how thats a mark against him.

There's plenty of winnable fights out there for Eubank. Billy Boy will never go near him again. He beats everybody Golokvin fought no problem. He only calls out guys in or above his weight class. Notice how he never once called out anybody lower and knows chasing Canelo is a waste of time , unlike GGG who is content on wasting away his career to wait for an easy fight and avoid all challenges from higher divisions.

 

Saunder couldn't school the novice green Eubank. He spent the last 6 rounds running and holding on for dear life. You never saw that fight.

 

Well, Jack is a pretty good boxer and a tough fight for anyone. Eubank hasn't fought anyone who could beat Badou Jack.

I just don't see it with Eubank. He has some ability, of course, but his footwork and overall technique are pretty poor. I'm sure there are some fights he can win but I think anyone who can box at the world level should beat him comfortably.

Didn't Eubank Jr already turn down a fight with Golovkin?

I'd like to see Jr in with Ramirez next.

 

He's not a one punch K.O artist but he hits hard. Wears you down over time.

Degale doesn't beat anybody easy, two fights ago they pulled a chubby mexican from the all you can eat buffet and he nearly beat degale.

 

Fair point, perhaps, but DeGale is fundamentally far better than Jr and I still say he handles him quite comfortably.

I suspect Eubank Jr might be quite durable. I'd like to see him in with Chavez Jr or Ramirez.

Degale is fundamentally better than everybody he fights but never wins easy, he is either stupid or just a arrogant knob head. Before the jack fight he said don't be surprised if i win every round.

 

Agree with this, he needs to fight people of equal level now. Every time he faces someone he is a level above it's a real danger to their health... Need to have stronger corner-men

 

Snr or Jnr? Snr had good power, not great, but he came out with it at angles and after you thought you'd got him on the backfoot or in a corner. His tough chin went hand it in hand with it - he would absorb a few to smack out a dangerous one.

Jnr not really, fair power at least though. He needs combos to stop someone but they are just the same punches over n over. And against a weakling only. Never works on BloJo Saunders.

 

To be honest he did move up to SMW and TKOd a bigger dude. He almost put him away a couple times in the fight... I know he was a tomato can but it's always harder to KO someone when you love up in weight, so I say he has medium power in this division. I think jack is way stronger than Eubanks....
