I just got done watching the fight and i scored it a draw 114-114... i scored the last round even because they both landed about an equal amount of good punches (even though most were wild and grazing)

the 117-111 score for kessler from one of the judges was really off....depending on how you scored the last round, there could have been a one point swing for either fighter so i'm not upset at the outcome... i felt that if Froch would have just stepped up his workrate and made Kessler fight on the back foot, the fight would have been in his favor... he just took too long to capitalize on Kessler, who appeared to have weakened from rounds 9-11....

one thing that annoyed me was Froch's style/gameplan for the fight... his stance/style that he fights in is for someone with good speed, and he just doesn't have that... there were times where he would jab and it was slow BUT kessler has no head movement so it landed on him anyways... you didn't see froch land many meaningful jabs on dirrell...because dirrell has great head/body movement... froch needs to keep his hands up and pump that jab better... he was only able to get away with it with kessler but wont be able to with a faster fighter....

And for Kessler, he puts on good/ok pressure but he fights too "robotic"... nothing against his win... but he was able to land more punches on froch because froch doesn't move well laterally either... you didn't see him land those type of combinations on Ward because he didn't stand right infront of kessler like how froch did... and kessler swung wildly most of the time...he needs to get into range and time his punches... that's where i feel he gassed out towards the later rounds....

Overall, it was a good fight between two ok fighters....there should definitely be a re-match sometime in the future if they do not ever meet again in this tournament... if they were to fight again, i feel that Froch may be able to pull out a victory this time...

Congrats to Kessler on being the new WBC SMW Champ...:good

What is kind of funny is that if Froch had not fought Dirrel already, it would be hard to pick Froch to win after watching Dirrel-Abraham. While Froch didn't land anything against Dirrel, he did somehow neutralize Dirrels superior speed and boxing ability. I've got to watch that one again.

thanks for the input, but i don't feel that froch neutralized dirrell's speed and boxing ability at all... if anything... froch showed that he has a good chin by absorbing all the dirrells power punches... in my opinion, dirrell thoroughly outboxed froch even stunning him twice....

the froch who fought kessler was much, much different than the froch that fough dirrell... froch usually is the aggressor but against kessler, he was back pedalling too much... as if he didn't believe in his own power... he let kessler punk him around.... :bbb
