Assuming Pac-Margarito is next, Arum will make Pac-Cotto II after that right?

I think it's quite obvious Arum would prefer to make both of those fights before making the Mayweather fight. I believe Pac-Margarito will be for the vacant WBC title at 154 lbs, most likely at a catch weight. Assuming Pac wins, that will set up a unification fight with Cotto at 154 lbs, again most likely at a catch weight. After that, i believe the fight will actually be made. Unfortunately, it will be in the fall of 2011.:patschThis is all speculation on my part, but it just appears to be the direction Arum is going.

    Pac-Margarito
    Pac-Cotto 2
Pac-Mayweather which could be 2-3 fights
After that both fighters prolly retire

In which case Arum wins again.

    Margarito/Pac 2 would be big!

Pac stated he's not going up in weight anymore. I haven't seen any indication that he would back off on that statement.

    Arum is genius...

PAC vs Margarito for the vacant WBC Jr. Middleweight (154) title

Floyd challenging Cotto's WBA Jr. Middleweight (154) title with a clause in the fight contract that the winner will fight the PAC-Margarito winner next in a Jr. Middleweight (154) unification ...

    Brilliant...

Floyd wont fight for the WBA title.

More like Pac/Margo for vacant WBC(154) title
If Pac wins then a unification matchup between Cotto(Wba) and Pacquiao(WBc) gets made at 154.

Cotto will liekly fight his mandatory Ishida or some other soft defense while he waits.

Arum has his backup plans prepared for Pac for the next 2 years in case the Mayweather fight doesnt happen.

The WBC is such a joke. How could Margo vs. Pac possibly be for a vacant title? I think I know the answer to that, the Diamond belt and the silver belt basically allow for promoters to openly bribe the WBC.

I don't think we can complain much of a PAC vs Margo Jr MW title fight. WBC Jr. MW top contenders aside from Margarito are Angulo, Alvarez, Rhodes, Cintron... PAC is a better opponent than these contenders.

Arum obviously placated Cotto with a promise like this. Already. It will happen.

Are you serious, Margarito has done nothing at 154. Why the hell is he even rated that high? As far as Pac goes, he's never fought at 154 and will demand a catchweight. How the hell can you have a vacant title fight between two guys who have done nothing at that weight class, with a catchweight involved no less?

I hope not, but unless Mayweather decides to fight Pacquiao in 2011...your probably right. Cotto would need a big win before then to convince he can have another go at Pacquiao though.

Margo is more live then most of the fighters that Pac has fought over the past few fights. But he like the others is coming off his first true ass whipp'n of his career, and he will doubt himself going into a fight with Pac.

So you prefer Rhodes vs Alvarez/Cintron for the vacant WBC jr. MW title than having PAC vs Margo?
