Considering Lomachenko's skills and style, I don't think that him being knocked out is realistic.

    He'd have destroyed Floyd.

Valero fell in love with his power very early. Apparently he showed good boxing skills in the gym but, in the ring, he swung for the fences.

Against a guy like Lomachenko, I can only see Valero being picked off with straight punches again and again.

Thinking back on it, I can give you that. DeMarco was a solid guy, not a world beater, but solid, in a thin division. He was 23 or 24 when Valero beat that ****. But he did put a couple good wins in that stretch between the Valero and Broner beatdowns.

    Fair.

Lomachenko would almost certainly outclass the best Valero we got to see.
I think Valero was tough/psychotic enough to last 12.

    Vasyl 118-109 Valero (any weight)

Some of you have already forgotten how good Valero was because of the hate for him. He went from crude to showing he was a beast as a boxer or puncher. Loma would be in considerable danger facing Valero.

I think Valero actually regressed as a boxer. He seemed to become more and more enamoured with his power as he piled up the knockouts.

If we take the Valero that faced DeMarco or Mosquera, I think he'd be picked apart by a superior boxer like Lomanchenko (who's one of the worst stylistic match-up's for him imo)

Valero came a long way from the Mosquera fight and even in that fight he showed his heart and worth in a hostile environment.

Valero had speed to and he used a jab. I was very big on him. Just a shame

Yes he had some serious potential, but died whilst he was still fairly green, besides solid, somewhat over rated, power.

He had, what, maybe 2 wins over fighters above C/C+ caliber?

So please inform some of us when Valero proved that he's more than a one (lol 2 if you count WBAs "regular" shiny thing) weight class trinket holder.
What win made you decide to call Valero a beast? Or was it his ko ratio?

Did Valero ever beat someone with the skill set of a Roman M? Or even a Russel Jr?

I assume you will call in the Demarco (good win), or one other (I'll see if you know the win I consider solid before that).

In terms of ranking Valero's skill in fantasy type situations like this, I could care less he was a scumbag.
I truly believe he was massively over rated, mainly because of his cold dead eyes, mixed with his ko ratio.

Overrated? Who overrated him? Maybe me and a few others. Oh and Roman Martinez and skill set don't go together. The DeMarco fight was the tell tale fight and the beginning. He got bashed on the head by an elbow and suffered a deep open gash and proceeded to outbox Demarco. He was starting to show his true skill. The jab and combination punching. He was a busy punching machine.

Loma isn't a lineal champion. He holds a trinket himself lmao.

Fine, that little man was a fcking punching machine, that was one of the reasons I began to think he could be great or better.

The DeMarco win was no doubt solid.

I guess I'm just bitter with the Cosmos for sealing his fate the way it was, as I wanted to believe his ko ratio meant more than we will know.

I'll step back from my rambling a bit in my former post, as yea, what the hell can we expect other than fantasy talk, as he left to soon to be certain.

I guess Valero had a puncher's shot against Vasyl, but I still stand firm with-

    118-109 Vasyl

Definitely favor Lomachenko, but Valero did have a damn good punch.
