cotto was a catchweight no trainer and 0 confidence if he was prime then when did his prime end because after that loss he won every fight up untill mayweather

An explosive Shane that beat Margo would have a real chance of knocking Manny down a few times.So they fight Cotto,and in the same video Roach is talking how Cotto is a damaged fighter,prior to Pac facing him..

Oh and I love how a damaged fighter,was considered prime.. What fighter is prime a year or so after a brutal tko.

Well lets look back at who Manny could have faced post cotto :

Andre Berto was still the WBC welterweight champion in 2010 having missed out on a fight with then WBA Super champ Shane Mosley due to the Haiti accident

Jan Zaveck was the IBF champ but no one really paid any attention to him and lost the title to Andre Berto despite a spirited performance

Shane Mosley was tied up in a fight with Mayweather however Mayweather refused to pay sanctioning fee's to the WBA at the time so that was a non title bout.

Vyacheslav Senchenko was the regular WBA champ but he wasnt known in the US, went onto lose to Paulie Malignaggi . . . . by TKO . . . .

There was Floyd Mayweather . . . . but we wont get into that right now.

But if you want the real reason Manny Pacquiao didnt fight another champion look at who the champions were :

Berto - Dibella I think
Mosley - GBP (Mosley had to jump ship to toprank to get the fight)
Senchenko - Foreign promoter
Zaveck - Foreign promoter
Mayweather - . . . . . yeah we don need to go into that

There wasnt a single other Toprank Welterweight champion, hell there wasnt even a champion under the banner from 140-154

So realistically Bob set Pac up with fighters under his own banner and why? fighters pay promotional fees. If the promoter has Two fighters against each other then all the money stays in house.

 

If Pac was the man, he should have called out Mosley after Mosley Ko'd Margarito. Instead, Pac went looking for Margarito.

 

If you gotta boost Ortiz to prop your argument, you know it's a losing one. The guy has 1 top 10 win in 5 tries, and it was at a catchweight. He's an ATG in the hype/ability ratings.

 

Yea, his WW run isn't very good. Very much a joke other than the Cotto fight. He took a loss to Marquez unofficially or if you look at it officially, he lost to Bradley.
