Winky didnt fight like Tommy,I did not say he did, but, he proved that Trinidad is easy to hit with a jab and Hearns had a great one, take a look at him against Alfonso Hayman.
Trinidad has no area of his game that is superior to Hearns imo .
Be it boxing skill [,patently inferior], speed, foot work ,combinations, jab, etc.
Where do you see Trinidad the master here?

'Walker has no jab. Walker has no speed. Mayweather and Whitaker aren't getting past the 1-2...' You just make it up as you go along. Even the ignorance you've become known for on this forum gets a lift from this post.

...one need only take a look at your avatar to get a full-color visual of how questionable your judgment is.

I can't see Trinidad being favoured over Hearns. I'd compare this match-up to Hearns vs Cuevas, not that Trinidad was entirely like Cuevas but they got by mostly with their strength and power against higher levels of competition.

Trinidad was a big welter but Hearns was even bigger. Tito was always a sucker for the jab and the right hand should soon follow. If De La Hoya could make Trinidad do the wobble with a 1-2, Hearns could make him do a Pipino Cuevas.

Still I see the myth about Walker having no jab. Then why did he outclass Ace Hudkins with little more than use of the left jab? He wasn't jabbing with Tommy Loughran because that would've been ridiculous.

I don't think Trinidad is the master in any of these things but like I said earlier:

Loughran taught a boxing lesson to Braddock. It was a masterclass.

No one in their right mind tries to outjab Tommy Loughran, especially not Mickey Walker whose advantages at 175 were certainly not his 5'7 height nor the 67 inch reach but his relentless aggression and determination. Walker made a close fight out of it even without a jab against the left-hand dominant Loughran.

The only way Hearns could hurt Mickey Walker is with a baseball bat.

Technique has changed since the days of Mickey Walker .. Walker and all those old school guys were far 'harder' than fighters of today in the punishment that they took, but the guys throwing the shots didnt throw the same kind of shots that guys like Hearns threw .. Boxing is the only sport that doesnt 'evolve', im a big believer in that, but if Hearns landed the big right hand on Walker he would be out, its ridiculous to believe that Walker and all those old school warriors were somehow 'superhuman' and that they could take the super accurate shots that were delivered in Hearns's day .. I am in no way inferring that Hearns couldnt be taken down by Walker but i take a more realistic stance ..

The guys that say Hearns couldnt hurt Walker are the same guys that say Marciano couldnt hurt Greb, they are living in dream land based on the fact that the old time fighters took more shots than their modern day equivalents, its a ridiculous notion ..

Greb and Walker were not some kind of Super Human Hybrid form of mankind, they were fighters like any other boxer, and they could be hurt .... In 50 years im going to have the same conversation with 'young' Tyson fans who somehow believe he was indestructible ....
