I can't disagree with any of this. But Burley was in another class than Hearns at welter and I think it would show in a fight between them.

I'm surprised at how highly rated Hearns is as a welterweight by just about everyone here.
He was an awesome puncher but I cant favour him over the top all-time great welterweights, most of whom were incredibly durable and defensively well-drilled fighters. Hearns was vulnerable, had a less-than-excellent chin, holes in his defense (esp. when hurt), and suspect stamina. Also, he lacked experience at the welterweight stage.

Mayweather would give him problems landing clean, would he win? No and I never claimed he would. Not as moronic as those predicting an early blow out

A pretty common mistake, ever since Aristotles the majority knew the earth is a sphere. This was about 2,500 years ago. You are wrong again. Like most of the time.

    --he's a jerk-off.

A "good clean scrap"? PowderPuncher has been taking on about four posters in two threads in some kind of ****-eyed crusade -he's getting humiliated but is too immature to realize it.

He can't have read about it or he'd known Hearns won it easily in reality.

Perhaps. Hearns was demonic, but Burley's style was something to fear.

I've left the playground, and have resolved to debate posters who know what they are talking about.

You ought to change your avatar.
