At 147, who should Mayweather have fought next to enhance his legacy in the sport?

Watching Floyd winning a decission in a match where the judges wouldn't be firmly all over his ****, now that'd be a sight to behold

Neither do anything for his legacy in the grand scheme of things. PBF is already a proven ATG and has nothing left to prove.

Amir Khan because Amir is a stylistic threat + decent boxer (although bad chin and notable ADHD).

He's not a stylistic threat. Khan beats guys by outboxing them. How in the hell is he going to beat PBF at his own game? Not only that PBF's whole defense is designed to shut down traditional boxer's like Khan down. PBF is horrible match up for Khan who he has beat in the most important departmets.:deal

So it did nothing for Bernard Hopkins legacy that he unified all the titles in the division..... And if Floyd did beat Brook and Wembley, you'd act like it was meaningless I take it.

That's a rumour, no one knows how much money May made in US PPV's and the other junk.

Hatton made big money in the UK PPV market and Mayweather I don't think got anything but that wasn't enough to cover the difference in the US Market PPV's

And Mayweather vs Hatton was far bigger in the US than in the UK

Even if it was in the UK, I doubt it would have been that big even at Wembley

I wouldn't mind seeing PBF fight Brook but it still wouldn't do much for his legacy as of right now unless Brook turns out to have a HOF career or something.

Whatever fight he wants !! lets be honest Myweathers legacy is already written the only thing he will prob add is 50-0. The names on the resume speak for themselves. Pacman is the only one that the public demanded he fought. The rest is just what the fans want not so much demand. Do i want too see him in the ring with Brook, Thurman, Khan etc yes but it wont happen. Berto then one more ... Pacman prob rematch that he can negotiate himself and get even more than last time, we will all get in a frnzy again and the fight will prob go the same way .... again. In Floyds eyes the only two guys i think he felt he HAD to face in his career was Oscar and Pacman

Assuming that beating Pac enhances his legacy, why would beating anyone else at 147 enhance it even further since he has beaten the only boxer around his weight class that can arguably be called an atg?

However if he really wants to make waves and have everyone talking about him like crazy he moves up and takes GGG. Obv this wont happen im just saying in terms of immortalising himself this is probest the boldest move he could make

Thurman, Brook, or Porter. All three are considered the young guns of the division. Floyd taking on one of the perceived heir apparents at the twilight of his career in his last fight would've been a passing of the torch so to speak, win or lose. Khan doesn't have that luster, Porter's loss is to the other young gun so he still has it. Thurman and Brook obvious reasons, both are young athletic, with power and speed, and Thurman to boot is american and charismatic. Any of those 3 would've enhanced his legend.

nonesense about wembley Hatton could have sold Machester city stadiuim out twice when he fought Tzyu let alone what the tickets would have been like for Mayweather. did hatton not take like 30k to Vegas with him or something insane like that ?

Brook would have enhanced his legacy significantly.

It would have been a total unification against an unbeaten prime opponent.

Would enhance his WW legacy as well as his p4p legacy.

again tho with Brook he would be considered quite a large favourite for that fight especially in the states .. i dont know if it betters his legacy really. Those in the states wont look at it as being one of his better opponents. Americans certainly will think his name is not in the same league as the likes of Mosley, Cotto, Alvarez, Marquez, Hatton, De la Hoya & Gatti.

If Brook goes on to unify the division himself it could go down as his best WW victory.

If not then it is, at worst, a total unification of the division which is the main nail Hopkins hung his hat on for years.
