I knew this one already burt as I was looking over Jimmy's record not that long ago.

To be honest I thought he was 19 but I just went with it to try to get in before anyone else...and if I found I was wrong after I quick check of boxrecnI could have always just edited it out. :D

Your right if we go by Boxrec.

I did a little research and this is what I found:

In the Ring Record Book, the 1st time they had McLarnin's record was in 1943, and they had his birth date as December 17, 1905. It stayed that way until 1964, when it was listed as December 17, 1907. That stayed that way until 1982, when it was listed as December 19, 1906. It stayed that way until the last Ring Record Book was put out in 1987.

Fight Fax also changed during the years. They had December 19, 1906 then December 19, 1907.

I notice, that IBHOF lists his birth date as Dec. 19, 1907.

I also see, that when McLarnin was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 1980 (their inaugural year), his birth date was given as Dec. 17, 1907.

The following year (1981) Jimmy was elected to their Bord of Directors, and in connection with this, they write:

Jimmy was "cast naked upun the naked earth" 19 December, 1907, in Belfast Ireland (verified by his boss, Lillian).

So it would seem, there's a pretty good chance, he was born on either Dec. 17 or 19, 1907... with the latter being the most likely.

So I'm in the master view, "Forum Home".

I see a thread with an only partially visible title due to space constraints.

"At 18 years old I licked..."

The last comment on this topic was by a poster named "Bukkake".

Thread is not in Lounge. Thread is in Classic.

The only thing I can think of is that he lied about his birth date in order to box. It looks like he started as a pro on his 16th (17th or 18th) birthday.

As far as what the IBHOF has, they usually go by the record books, which at that time had 1907. So does most of the other sources.
