Maybe he means Mayweather is not an all time fighter. His fights were usually not very action packed. He was never really involved in super intense fights with other great fighters. The Mosley, DLH, Pac fights all happened years too late. Margarito fight never happened, Williams and Martinez didn't happen either.

There is no way to objectively measure skills. You don't just assign an arbitrary number for skills.

You measure it by the way he easily beats world class fighters and makes them look average. You measure it from his compubox power punch landing % and his opponents career low connect % when fighting him. You also measure it by how many fighter of the year awards undefeated in 3 different decades and on the top 10 p4p list since 1998.

 

I think any guy who tops a list of all fighters for a 25 year period would rank on an atg list somewhere

Yeah, I'm sure you are really interested in what people think. Don't know if you were aware but he has about 200 amateur fights and really done quite well. In fact so well that the supposed middleweight champion will not fight him at the middleweight limit even though he himself will probably weigh about 10 to 15 pounds over that limit at the time of the fight. So though he started his pro career a little late it still seems like it sufficient to have scared Canelo.

 

It says that he is very skilled how else can it be measured?. When you have people going crazy when pbf takes only two flush clean punches in a fight that right there tells you everything.
