Canelo is as big as GGG is. Height does not equal size. Canelo has been draining down to unnatural weights for years. GGG doesn't have better stamina. He used to have much better stamina. He paced better than Canelo did. GGG stalked and jabbed. He didn't go beserk. Watch him against Curtis Stevens. He went beserk there, he was 31 years old. Thing is, he can no longer do that anymore without emptying his tank. Canelo gassed because he danced too much and didn't pace.

You never boxed before, so you don't know anything about it. Watch a Chavez Sr. or a Duran tape if you want to know how to put on educated pressure and counter on the way in.

Rofl. Pure technical ability punching the thin air and being unable to cut the ring.

Lol at people saying GGG doesn't have footwork. I won't even comment on that. That just shows me that people don't understand boxing. There was one time where GGG landed a beautiful right hook on Canelo, and readjusted. Boom, beautiful footwork.

That's what is supposed to be done. It was a close fight, but man GGG haters are out in full force. It was a highly technical fight from BOTH fighters.

Mayweather put pressure on McGregor, but also countered on the way in. The difference between this fight and the Mayweather fight is that GGG had to use the jab because Canelo is a much better fighter than McGregor.

Honestly after the fight I left thinking if Alvarez can up his gas tank a little bit he dominates the rematch, most of GGG success didn't come from him it came from Alvarez taking breathers and still only ended with a draw.

Do you think McGregor "just got tired" too?

It's part of the game. Canelo is not going to get a better gas tank. With age, the one thing that goes is stamina.

Yes, seems that 93% of people are fanboys and 80% of former and active boxers and journalists are also fanboys because they had ggg winning.

Canelo was the better counter puncher. Nobody is going to dispute that. Almost every punch Canelo threw was as a counter. That's part of what limited him in this fight. He would have had more success if he wal also beating Golovkin to the fight.

However to say that Golovkin wasn't countering is kind of dumb. Golovkin was countering Canelo as he was spinning off the ropes. His huge right hand over the top was a counter to Canelo's check left hook while trying to spin off the ropes.

LOL at people pretending that Golovkin is just a one dimensional brawler with no skills while Canelo is this skilled master boxer. Reality is that Golovkin showed subtle skills that tamed Canelo's master 'counter punching' skills.

You are more right than Tinman, but you also exaggerate. I wouldn't say that there was much difference in technical abilities the other night; so that is not how GGG beat Canelo. He beat Canelo with physical tools like superior strength, chin, and stamina, a superior game plan, and mental tools such as a superior heart/will to win. If Canelo was as committed, willing to take chances, and well conditioned, he might have beaten GGG.

I didn't think GGG looked dumb and limited. I thought he was very smart, had a good game plan, and did what he had to to win. If he had boxed "smart" and played crafty no way would the judges give him a round. As it was, he was forceful and dominant and the best he could get from those crooked judges was a draw. If he'd made things a chess match and played slick to outbox Canelo people would say that he wasn't doing enough and should have walked Canelo down.

What an unskilled rube. Why, he only won because he doubled Canelo in landed jabs, like a true caveman.

You are right about everything but "Canelo showed he was by far the better counter puncher and defensive fighter." We wouldn't know unless Canelo stalked and pressured Golovkin and Golovkin chose to counter with his back to the ropes. Golovkin might look like a god in defense mode, but Canelo never put him there. What Canelo did, it's easier to look good doing. Waiting for opportunities is a lot easier than making them. If Golovkin chose to be timid and make things a chess match, I guarantee his connect percentage goes up and Canelo's goes down.
