Av been boxing on and off since i was 16, i had 9 fights as a junior winning 6, then left boxing for a while. i went back to boxing 18 months ago i have had 6 fights as a senior winning all 6, but am 25 now and am already sick of the amatures so i am going to try the pro ranks, i live in wigan which isnt far from manchester. What are your thoughts on this? am gonna start looking for a trainer soon. My record is 15 fights 12 wins

    Go for it. :good

I'm actually considering a late run myself (27 now, never competed - been out of the gym a few years now, and for several years before that after supposedly showing "promise" as a snot-nosed 12 year old :yep - but having my parental funding cut off within months). I'm curious - how long did it take you to rack up the 15? How intensively were you training during that time? How was it juggling that with making a living and living life?

Well when i was a junior i had 9 fights won 6, then i stopped for a few years. Since comeback as a senior i have felt really good the senior boxing suits my style better as am a pressure fighter so they like to stand and bang more, av just finished college so now am not working reason why i want to go pro. Since going back to boxing i have stopped drinking and i train every day. Am on good run av not been beat as a senior in my last fight i beat a guy who had had 28 fights, so i would like to give the pro game a try cos i need some money and some titles would be nice :good

There's no good scene in Manchester? Would think so. Ireland seems a bit out of the way to need to go. Definitely weigh your options and put yourself out there. :happy

The closest to me looks to be Brian Vera's promoter. :!: The sport's not exactly thriving in Boston...damn shame as this used to be a hotbed.

Indeed mate. Serious fall from grace...the state's biggest active name at the moment is probably still Ruiz. :verysad
