At age 48 Foreman or Hopkins gave the better performance?

In 1997 Big George Foreman was 48 when he defended his lineal Heavyweight championship in the last fight of his career vs. Shannon Briggs. He lost on the judges scorecards yet won unanimously in the court of public opinion. Bernard Hopkins is now 48 having just defeated Tavoris Cloud for the IBF Light Heavyweight belt. So, who's win at 48 was the better effort taking into consideration 2 factors: A) both 48 year old's performance and B) the quality of their challenger at that time?

I personally think Bhops performed was more sound

However Shannon Briggs was still fighting for the title himself aged 48 vs Vitali Klitshko, so you have to take his own longevity into account when ranking George's win over him

That is of course, unless Briggs was a ****, shot, half dead shell of himself vs VK :think

I voted B-Hops. He was aggressive, lively, and put on a show. Not saying Foreman didn't, I was just pleasantly suprised by Hopkins's fight. Cloud was an underdog but a live one, and Hopkins shut him down and punched him in the face.

Yeah I liked the part where he punched him in the face as well, was one of the highlights for me.

I voted Hopkins, but I admit that I only watched Foreman vs Briggs once and that was years ago.....

Far and away my favorite part. First fight I saw live and that just stuck with me; it defined the night.

Shannon was 38, not 48, when he faced Vitali.

Just watched it. Foreman looked class. Very good jab.
I would change my vote if it was possible...

Foreman was shafted hard in '97 Jersey against a scared shitless Briggs on HBO........

B-HOPS looked awesome against T. Cloud up in York this weekend...

Foreman was a brute, where as Hops is a master boxer...
