Andy Ruiz had one great night and that's all he'll ever have: he's this generation's Buster Douglas, even down to blowing up by more than a stone in his next fight after winning his belts.

Ruiz has lead feet, stubby arms, probably isn't even 6' tall and isn't a powerful puncher. Parker and Joshua have shown everyone the blueprint how to beat him: move, score points and keep him at a distance with your jab. Wilder can take a lot of punishment, has great range, fast feet and has beaten similar fighters in Stiverne and Arreola largely using his jab. Ruiz has been dropped by Joshua and Arreola and was very wary of Ortiz's power, he'll be even more wary of Wilder's nuclear right hand.

I won't give Wilder much credit for schooling Ruiz because this is a complete mismatch, he has all of the attributes to make this an easy fight. If Wilder brutally KO's Ruiz then that will be impressive because Ruiz is very durable. But it will be much more interesting to see Wilder in with an opponent who has fast feet, seeing as the only fleet-footed fighters Wilder has fought are Fury, Szpilka and Scott. If Hunter can return to form that would be an interesting fight. The Sanchez from the Ajagba fight too.

I would be interested in this fight. I’ve wanted to see it since 2019.

Wilder stops him. Ancient Arreola dropped him, the man before time Ortiz was having success finding him and outpointing him besides those knockdowns. Even if this is a real shot at redemption for Ruiz, I'm predicting he comes in overweight yet again. Good on him if he gets another payday though, he's really been able to milk that Joshua win.

I mean, I think you could replace " victory" with any word and Burger King and it works for Ruiz.

If Wilder KOs Ruiz, I think he's self-evidently the #3 heavyweight in the world. How can he not be?

Per Dan Rafael, Shelly Finkel (Wilder's manager for those who don't know) is trying to goad Eddie Hearn into a Wilder/Joshua fight:

"It's Tuesday and we're waiting for Eddie to follow through like he said. He said he wants to make the Joshua fight and he has a lot of money to make it ... if the numbers are right, the fight happens. No problem at all doing it in the UK"

Finkel also said they are willing to fight Ruiz but would prefer Joshua or Usyk. Take it FWIW.
