Whats the word after Lockett and Rubio, who is Pavlik going too fight? Read that Duddy is going to fight June 28 and then might fight Pavlik at end of the year and at same time I have read that HBO does not want Pavlik vs Abraham till early 2009. What would really good would be for a double bill Pavlik vs Duddy and and Abraham vs Lorenzo at the Garden:happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy :happy

I hope Pavlik doesn't waste his time fighting B level oposition like Duddy, Rubio, Lorenzo and Lockett, after June, when he can be fighting Abraham, Sturm, Winky Wright or Joe Calzague.

He needs to fight the big names, fighters who can compete with him, that's what the fans want, not one sided beatdowns.

Lockett is a mandatory and after 3 hard fights in a row Pav deserves to get away with a fight like this.

But fighting Rubio is pushing it and fighting Duddy after that is borderline unacceptable. Abe is only other guy who is a threat to Pavlik's throne at middleweight and Kelly needs to fight him sooner, rather than later to show he is the best.

Though no doubt these fights will endear him to the public even more.

he shouldnt fight b level opposition, what about when this b level opposition has worked their way up in every ranking system,do they not deserve a shot at the title, should instead the champion fight oppostion who is indeed inactive in someone like winky wright who has done nothing to deserve being a title shot other than being a 'name'?

look at who abraham has been fighting, very much c-level opposition ... while duddy remains mthe biggest ticket seller in new york and although his last fight was totally indifferent he has shown great skill in the past and if he fights and wins convincingly on july 28th he will climb further up the rankings.

it is people like duddy who have got the casual fan back into boxing and the more an athlete like him fights the better it is for the sport.he has the chin, the heart and the all action style that this fight craves in the middle of a era dominated by big name defensive fighters.

    You are right,vincent!

Pavlik vs Duddy, and Abraham vs Lorenzo on the same fight card would be great! Such a fight event will attract a lot of media attention and prepare the ground for a clash between the undisputed nr.1 and the undisputed nr.2 at middle weight.

Duddy sucks. He's sure to get a crack at Pavlik sometime soon, though.

Pavlik should fight Abraham. That should be an entertaining fight while it lasts.
I think Abraham might take this one based on chins. Has Abraham ever been seriously wobbled. I know Miranda broke his jaw but from the highlights i saw if i remember right he was never seriously wobbled and Miranda is a huge puncher. Pavlik was stunned at times and dropped by Taylor.
I think the harder chin will prevail.
Wright i think Outboxes Pavlik to a clear UD. No way Pavlik will be getting all his shots in through Wrights defense. Also Wright has a very good chin.

In his first defense, Pavlik is taking on a number one ranked contender as a mandatory.

    Duddy will get his shot.

Whether or not he deserves it is debatable, but he will get his shot. He's popular, exciting, and despite some ****-poor perfromances, he always tries to put on a good show.

It will be a big money fight for both.

They should hold that one at the Garden.
