Well what do you expect? Hatton is going to run away? ********!

Hatton did what he is expected to do. To come forward and exert pressure on PBF. And PBF did what is expected of him to do . . . counter and stop the onslaught . . . and most of all stop Hatton from hugging him to death. :D

Uninspiring? That's crap . . . anybody who is a real boxing afficionado will realize that PBF is a smart, agile and very calculating fighter and will always appreciate that . . . only reason why the guy won't get that much support is because of his disgusting behaviour and bragging. :yep

Hatton impressed me more than DLH did, thats for damn sure.

DLH fought to keep it close it and not get hurt, it worked, but so what?

Hatton went to hurt Floyd, it backfired.

Absolute bull****. Hatton won 1 round at best.

I agree with the thread, at least he came to fight and he has to be praised for that, and for taking the fight in the first place - Hatton deserves all the credit in the world for laying his career on the line at 29 when he could have taken the Calslappy ***** route - but he came up short and lost BIG.

Nobody cares about your opinion because you're a newbie.. It wouldn't have even lasted 10 rounds if Hatton wasnt grabbing so much and rabbit punching. And yeah Hatton was aggressive but that's how he HAS to fight. He doesn't have great technical boxing skills to fall back on. And wow you claim Mayweather was his usual defensive self but i recall seeing Hattons head snap back MULTIPLE times. I don't even wanna imagine what would of happened if Mayweather wasn't his "Usual defensive self"

He knew he had to go for the knockdown later on, went for it and it back fired. Got KOed from a counter punch whilst throwing a possible KO punch of his own.

Well, most expected PBF to run and potshot. Wrong.

Not only did Hatton come to fight, he also came to win. He was getting hit with lots of solid shots but he stuck to the pressure game plan that was thought to payoff in the later rounds.

He lost, but at least he tried.

There are only 1 or 2 fighters that has brought the best out in floyd. 1. Ricky Hatton by far I think made us see so many dimensions of Floyd's game and really made him work. And for that you HAVE to give Hatton credit.
    2. Would be Castillo and Although Castillo should have gotten the nod in my books in the 1st fight, I still think Floyd had to fight at a higher intensity against Ricky Hatton.

This is a good post. There is a problem on this website with people complaining that boxers are "exposed" or "overrated". While this might be true in some cases, the majority of the time it comes as the result of overrating a single loss.
In the case of warriors like Hatton there is really no shame or "exposedness" in losing. A real fight fan wants to see Hatton again. We want guys to fight like this and take risks.
