He didn't quit like Geale. Ironic how Geale shook his head at the ref and quit after all the guff he was spouting beforehand about Macklin. Remember the shite out of Geale beforehand? .you know...What a weak effort Macklin made, Macklin was frozen with fear, Macklin was scared silly etc etc and how HE was going to do SO much better etc etc. At least Macklin didn't quit in his feet eh? Poetic justice!
If he didn't quit, GGG could cause him permanent brain damage. He knew after that puch he was done, so he could as well quit. Wise decision.
I'm a little bit confused. It seems like everyone is saying he stopped the fight himself but he did the interview in a post fight press conference and basically said he thought he could continue but the referee stopped it and nobody said any different about it.
Watch the fight for yourself. Geale wanted no more part of the one they call Triple G after that shot landed. He had ample time to get up but chose not to, simples.
For all the Geale fans who always compare him to Mundine, say what you want about Mundine but he has never quit like a bittch in a fight.
Maybe but least he had the balls to jump in with GGG , Choc deadset ducked GGG cold - wanted no part of him , all this calling out Flold crap we had to put up with . Choc may have made more money than Gealey but most aussies know Chocs career has basically been a con job on the fans - never stepping up.
Geale was shaking his head in disapointment he didn't even hear what the ref was saying because his head was still scrambled. Geale made the mistake of trading to much with ggg which was his downfall. But at least he took the fight up to ggg landing some great shots unlike maklin who fought like a scared rabbit. The shot Gealey connected with just before the k.d was an absolute perla! Great effort by Geale he gave it his best shot but he just come up against the next lance armstrong of boxing.
I don't blame Geale for quitting, at that point he'd probably worked out it was quit or get stopped for real. I would of done the same.
