I think Hopkins style would outpoint Toney.

Toney. I'm just going with my gut here. He was a damn good middleweight. Lots of pop, decent speed. Somehow, I think he pulls it out.

Exactly what I thought. Great post. Toney knew every trick in the book (master class against Barkley) when he was just a nipper.

  5. Toney W , if he could outpoint mccallum he could do so against b hop

I agree Hopkins has enough movement and ring IQ to give Toney fits. Hopkins by close UD

Exactly what i'm talking about :good He was as much of an 'old pro' and crafty as Mccallum in their first fight and it was only his 3rd year as a pro :scaredas:

Hopkins was just better. More versatile, faster, much better footwork, better on the outside and his quality as a ring general means he's going to keep it there most of the fight, not that he wouldn't hold his own on the inside. In his prime, he also wouldn't ever take any rounds off like Toney might.
