    Mayweather overrates his own drawing power. Many of his best performances (PPV-wise) included a popular b-side fighter (Canelo, Cotto, Hatton, etc). De La Hoya was probably the A-side fighter in that fight. Maidana lacked the charisma and fan base, I think. In addition, there wasn't a press tour of any kind for this fight. It just didn't seem like it was presented properly.

    A defensive fighter being the biggest draw in boxing is a remarkable achievement. No one can ever take that away from mayweather.

    IMO, it BAFFLES me how that worked.

    Floyd will ALWAYS get a decision win (Ortiz aside). Be honest, Floyd's fights are boring.

    It must bum him out that people pay to see him lose.

    he bombed his last ppv even with a stacked undercard on a mexican holiday and without competing ufc event. PPV draw my ass. :rofl

    But Oscar wasn't getting a huge guarantee like Floyd. Half the PPV goes to Time Warner, 25% to the network and 25% to Floyd and he share the PPV with the opponent.
