    Sorry, Kurupt, I'm a born *******.

I very much like both but Jones, Jr was more dominant over a longer period of time. He is the greater fighter even tho he chose to hang on too long. If he had quit after Ruiz, we would be talking top 10 or 15 all time P4P.

Klompton can come in now and **** on all this but it is merely bad blood, as opposed to his erudite deconstruction of Dempsey.

Without thinking about it too much, I’ll go with Whitaker. Better opposition fought/beaten and done without the exceptional physical gifts Jones relied upon.

You can't punish a guy because he wasn't as gifted physically, each brings to the table whatever it is they had. (ie speed, boxing skills, height, ability to take a punch, etc.)

Maybe I misread it, no worries. They're both top notch fighters.

At their peak id go with Roy...

    Most dominate fight Pea- Haugen

    Jones-Ruiz..

Both guys were awesome in their prime, my opinion is that Roy was a notch better...

I say sweet pea wad the better fighter for me. He didn't have the power of Jones but offensively speaking he was a better shot selector and more accurate imo.

Whether through willingness or business reasons he was also more willing to fight the best. So imo his skills were proven at a higher level whilst looking just as good.

It's a shame some of the fights didnt come off at better times for him: Chavez at 140 unification and quartey at 147 unification.

He also showed more grit for me, the way he dug deep against hurtado was better than when Jones had to dig deep against Tarver imo.

There isn't a lot in it at all for me and both are in my personal top 3 behind only Robinson.

Even as I type this post I'm not entirely convinced myself but my instinct says Whittaker was just a bit better.

At their absolute peaks I think Jones may have been more unbeatable. I do however think Pea had a slightly broader skillset to rely upon, and that is born out by him aging more gracefully.
He also overall fought the better competition.

So it's too close for you buddy? But if made to choose you're leaning towards Jones? How about this... what fight do you think showcases their peak performance?
