Baring in mind I'm from the UK, so I would prefer some americans to actually answer...go if you have an opinion...let me know brothers...

Roy Jones was robbed in the Olympics.

BHop was a convicted felon and wore a bondage mask for most of his career.

Hopkins was also a racist clown.

And the obvious reason is RJJ had an exciting style.

Roy said that a white boy can beat him.

Bernard said that he will never let a white boy beat him.

Jones was a gifted showman, Hopkins was a hard working grafter who's style wasn't nearly as exciting as Jones, also Jones benefited from the fact he was an olympian who's story was known whilst Hopkins was an ex convict and a virtual nobody outside hardcore boxing fans.

Its been said already but Jones was exciting to watch, could do amzing things in the ring.

Hopkins was a dull, technically proficient fighter that got victories.

Also, personality wise Jones came off as funny and was a good self promoter.

Hopkins had a personality like his fighting style.

You're from the UK so u have no idea that white America didn't give a **** about RJ. He was never popular. Never mainstream.

Roy reminds me of the clean cut star athlete in high school who was liked by everyone.

Guys like Bernard were rarely involved in the "high school experience" since they were too busy being G for that.
