At this moment in time, who's resume and legacy is the better? Bruno or Haye?

I heard they failed to sell enough tickets.

Perhaps they should have announced it?

The Heavy weight division of the 1980s, is a far different beast to the cruiser division of now. It's even a far cry from the heavies of now.

Brunos only loses came from Tyson, Lewis, Smith and Witherspoon.

Bruno fought twice as many fights Haye, so the Smith and Withspoon loses can be compaired in someways to equate to the Thompson loss.

Losing to Tyson and Lewis; no shame in that. He was out boxing and winning on the score cards till Lewis caught him as well.

Very true. But I'd still rank being the man at a weaker division higher than being an alphabet titlist at the 3rd go in a stronger one.

Haye failed on his first attempt to win the IBO, don't forget.

Having failed title fights against Tyson and Lewis is hardly anything to be ridiculed for. IMO, both of those would brutalise Haye.

I disagree. Yes he unified, is the champ, but he did not clear up the division, imo. Not in the way people make out anyway.

He only made one title defence against Enzo Mac as well. Cunningham is the future of Cruiser according to Haye, he's dissmisive of Enzo doing anything of note. Haye describes Cunningham as a top cruiserweight in terms of ability, he didn't fight him because there was no box office; unlike the Enzo fight.

I dont consider titles like IBO and WBU etc to actually be world titles. A ten fight novice vs a 40 year old ex WBo champ does not make a world title fight in my book.

The fighters on Frank's resume are undoubtably stronger than those on Haye's but other than McCall he lost to the good ones. That does take the shine off it for me. Haye has now beaten people that are better than Thompson was, whereas Bruno never beat stronger fighters than those he lost to.

Can you imagine if it mid 80s or so and Haye was calling out prime Tyson instead of Wlad. :yikes

i never claimed that he completely cleaned out the division but there is no disputing that he is the world cruiserweight champion. stevie's little trinket means nothing.

he only has that title because then undisputed champ o'neil bell vacated it.

    I agree with you.

My argument was against what seems to be the general consensus that he cleaned out the division (I was replying to a comment stating such), and that his achievements at cruiser were something very special (far above that of just winning a title). When in reality his achievements boil down to a very good win over Mormeck.

I don't really doubt that he's not the best man in the division; just the excessive credit he's getting for his resume.

I can't believe all this USS b/s. The guy is just an average CW who happens to hold a belt. He brings sweet FA to a fight and is boring to watch.

Haye beating USS would mean nothing at all.

I think the point people are trying to make is that Fraggomini/ Mormeck/ Enzo, while a good run of wins, are getting Haye a little too much credit esp. when trying to predict his heavyweight future.
