Vitali - I think he is the better boxer of the two but wlad has gotten better oppurtunity of facing better opponents.

    Vitali 37 wins 36 Ko
    Wlad 52 wins 46 Ko

I'll give vitali the edge on power.

I would say Wlad. In the past I would've said Vitali but with all the injuries he's had he could be injured in a fight and lose by TKO.

Wlad has a decent enough chin, a very good defense & his offense is second to none in the division.

Vitali, hands down. Chin of iron and a better technical boxer than people give him credit for. The only thing that can beat Vitali are his own injuries.

    Tough one.

The initial reaction is to say Wladimir because his chin issues, but what fighters lately have even landed on him? And Vitali hasn't fought a top fighter since his return unlike Wlad. Peter was ranked highly (and rightly so) but in hindsight the Peter win didn't show much except that Vitali still could fight some and Peter lost all of his hunger.

I'm going to go with Vitali, though. Wladimir is more vulnerable to the KO and the punchers chance, where the chances of stopping Vitali cold with one punch is close to none.

IF we ignore injuries ( a bif IF, Ill admit), then Vitali.

Aside from injuries, his only loss has been toa an ATG (#3 or 4 IMO ) Lennox Lewis.

All the others have been KOd save Timo, and he was shut out.

Wlad can have stamina problems (Purity and Brewster) and he is suceptible to the Iron punch Sanders.

Wlad has better technique, but on the intangibles, heart, toughness, chin, Vitali is more difficult.

About equal. They both have their "pluses" and their "minuses".

There's no such thing as an equal..

Today's Wlad is a totally different fighter and his style is much harder to overcome.

    Wlad.

Far superior technically, far quicker, far more mobile, more powerful.

I voted for Wlad. He has better footwork, better defense, faster hands (though it's close) and a much better jab. Vitali definitely has the better chin (one of the best compared to one of the worst), but not many can effectively reach Wlad's chin.... Vitali has better stamina as well, but Wlad's has been excellent since Steward became his full time trainer. He stayed off the ropes for 12 rounds against Peter and staggered him in the 12th, stopped Thompson in the 11th, etc. He put down the weights and trains more like a boxer instead of a weight lifter now. And of course, Vitali is more susceptible to injuries.

The fact that VK has such a strong chin makes one naturally feel more confident about picking him, but i'd say that overal, Wlad is harder to beat right now. Especially because Vitali is 38 and slowing down.
