There are a lot of things many boxers do that go unnoticed. A few degenerates here can't ever compromise that.
Deicide to start micro managing his career and select at what point fights need to be made and what fights just won't get made and how many times does one retire umm Interesting
Good post. I never knew this. I guess Mayweather isn't a total ***** after all. That's pretty cool of the man.
Not a single fighter in the whole history would decide not to change his career for mayweather's. Not a single one.
I personally felt fighting Henry Brusells was one of his worst cherry picks. Really wish he would have fought a better name then. Personally felt most of the other names like Baldomir and Judah were actually good fights at the time because those guys were really the top of the division. Corley and Mitchell weren't actually that bad either. Maybe in restrospect they don't look that good, but when he fought them they were top 10 fighters. DLH and Hatton were quality. Marquez a bit of a cherry pick to make him come up in weight, but clearly Marquez wasn't that bad of a welter seeing as what he accomplished after that. Floyd not making weight was pretty crummy though. Mosley and Ortiz were highly rated when Mayweather beat them. Even though in retrospect they didn't do well after fight Floyd. Guerrero, Canelo were both solid opponents and highly regarded at the time by many. The -2 lbs on Canelo was a bit shameful. Maidana was a total cherry pick, pretty bad, one of the most shameful matchings in recent years for him. Pac was a good pick at the time, he was still rated highly, no matter what people say, went on to beat bradley and vargas afterwords. 2 Quality fighters who weren't shot. Even though Pac was past his best so was Mayweather, not really a bad fight. Berto - Shameful. But the style made it somewhat interesting at times. He really didn't fight as bad of competition as yall want to think. I do take issue with the Canelo weight drain and choosing Maidana and Berto. But other than that his resume is better than most fighters of any era.
Naw the PERSONA of Mayweather isn't actually what he is. He plays the heel for the money. Every single story I've heard of about him says that he's not a dick. I just don't like watching matches after he dropped pretty boy floyd and adopted the money moniker.
LOL, it's shameful, 49-0 and he is now beating up a novice. Can you imagine if a fighter like Joshua, Wilder, Golovkin, Brook, Khan did this, fought an MMA fighter with 0 fights under his belt, they would be getting absolutely slaughtered and destroyed.
what about the multiple convictions for domestic battery (five or so, is my guess)--punching his ex-wife in the face in front of her children, etc.? aside from that, it sure seems like "money" is his soul--he routinely tweets pics of himself holding bags of money, or standing in front of his half million dollar sports car, etc and despite having all that money, just to get a little more of it, he'll do things that other fighters would find humiliating--for instance, having the burger kind mascot accompany him on a walkout (for which he was paid $1 M)
at least his last 2 fights will improve his legacy Berto and a guy making his pro debut Sugar Ray Robinson has got nothing on Money Mayweather
Ray robinson? lol I would like to read your opinion if floyd instead of maidana and pacman would have fought Rudolph Bent and Peter Schmidt. Old timers fought one bum after the other half of their careers, not judging because they fought every month, but it's so funny to read comments like yours.
