At what age would you say a fighters physical abilities decline?

    Yeah I suppose you can't really narrow it down to a certain age, but I believe its between 28-32, look at someone like Jones who relied mainly on his physical abilities rather than technique and strategy. It seemed his best days were far behind him by 2003 which would have made him 33 or so. Although much of that could have been because of going up to heavy weight and then moving back down.

    I think what he meant was only physical deline. I think that it starts even earlier but because we gain experience then it compensates for decline in physical abilities.

    For example young Kobe Bryant was better athlete than a 28 year old version but his lack of experience hurt him. Once he gained experience and only slighly lost his physical abilities he was in his prime.

    Yeah I think it actually starts to decline at age 23-25 but it is so minimal you usually can't notice. But once a guy hits 30 the effects actually become noticable. It seems that athletes in track which is a sport that relies mainly on physical abilities, it seems that the best athletes record their personal bests at about age 22-27.
