I feel pretty much indifferent to this opinion, just wondering what real boxing means to people I guess. I don't personally care but, I do find the consensus of it not being real boxing a bit harsh. It can't be because only one rule is changed, because if only one rule were changed in traditional boxing it would only be a matter of time before it were accepted and forgotten about. So, where exactly is BKB too different to be real boxing, what is it missing?
So that's it, if it were sanctioned you would completely accept it as real boxing? Even if that's true for you, I have a sneaking suspicion that is not so for many people.
What I want to know is; how safe is it falling head first on that inclined area if one were to be knocked out onto it?
I'm guessing you believe it changes the strategy too much? I could see that, but I believe the gist, foundation, ground work etc. remains the same, for me I don't see enough change not to call it boxing anymore.
If traditional sanctioned boxing changed rules little by little over many years ultimately becoming what BKB is today, would that still make it real boxing in your eyes?
