At what point will Anthony Joshua being four years younger than Wilder become a major advantage?

....assuming they stayed apart and unbeaten. AJ is 29 in October and DW is 33 the same month, so almost exactly a 4 year age gap. Anyway it would make little difference now or next year; but assuming nobody takes a beating and things carried on as they are....what year/ages would the 4 year gap become a major factor and advantage to AJ....if at all ? Any thoughts--or belief that DW'S power, athleticism and conditioning would maybe even negate the age difference?

Maybe in 5-6 years, until that it won't make any difference in my opinion.

Wilder hasn't fought many rounds, he ended 19 of his 40 fights in the first round, there is not much wear and tear
at the moment and his athleticism is far superior to any other heavyweight, means that even when he declines a
bit he will still have that advantage and he will gain experience to balance it out.

Give him 2 or 3 years and Wilder will be done, finished. If he even makes it that far in his career, he'll probably be beaten by then. It will only be a 1 or 2% difference in movement, reactions, nothing major. But it will be enough to cause him problems and give him losses. His game relies on that movement so much, it improves the unpredictability he has. Once he loses that he's there to be broken down. This isn't no Klitschko who got to 37,38-ish before starting to encounter problems. It will come earlier with Wilder cause he doesn't have the same kind of boxing brain as someone like Wlad.

The warning signs will be when Wilder starts making irrational statements or crazy threats such as wanting to cripple someone in front of their young child or wanting a body on his record. Often this takes place alongside strasnge and unwise fashion decisions, comments indicating potential schizophrenic impulses, split personalities or references to oneself in the third person. That's when age related dementia can be diagnosed.

Oh I should add that this thread question was influenced by me reading several people claiming AJ Is waiting to age DW before facing him-- in a way akin to Canelo waiting to age GGG; Which I thought was maybe people getting confused and carried away as that rivalry has an over 8 year age gap.... but this is half that and at a higher weight...allowing for the fact that age difference becomes, in general, less significant the higher the weight class. So wondered if the AJ aging DW line... by virtue of being 4 years his junior, was a bit dramatic.

Even with his athleticism, his flaws are glaringly obvious. When he loses even a step, he's gonna be in trouble.

Wilder is prime now but give it another 2-4 years and we'll likely see him decline at some point during this period, between the ages of 35-37.

Wilder should've been the man post-Vlad era.

The one who would expose the myth that was Ortiz, and then use his youth to beat the likes of Pulev/Povetkin better than Wlad did.

Someone with his skill set, which relies so much on his youth, should have taken down Wlad/Vitali/Haye, and Fury/Joshua shouldn't be an issue.

Sadly, he's now going to be exposed by Joshua/Fury by either fighting and losing to them......
    Or never fighting them.

Bear in mind that life and death struggle with the legendary Nichols tools years off Wilder. In reality he's nearing 40.

Meat feast, opinion of a casual and Brighton bomber--yeah good point(s); his athleticism and mobility is enabled by youth. They are conducive and crucial to his style...so the gradual loss of that will be more telling and detrimental to him than on his current HW peers/elite competitors...who's style is less reliant on the assets of youth. Yeah that's valid.

It's not so much the age as the number of fights.

Wilder really has little mileage on him so it's the more fights Joshua gets is what the difference is bc Wilder is at his peak now in 40 fights.

Yes exactly--at his peak *now* at nearly 33. They're both relatively undamaged, so will father time become a factor and make the 4 years progressively more significant? BTW good points and post, not denying that...just if things stayed pretty much as they are...if and, more pertinent to the thread, *when* the 4 years would become a deciding factor?
