At what weight do you not consider boxers to be small men anymore?

    Minimumweight

No seriously, I can't make a call. I guess save for outliers, 160 would be it.

^^^^^ I would agree ive met several fighters that fight in some of the lighter divisions and many of them look like average size.

A big LW or JL doesnt looks small in person. Although some do it depends on which fighter.

It all depends. I am 5'6, and rapidly approaching 150, and I am considered a small guy. However, someone who is 6'0, and weighs what I way wouldn't be considered "small", just skinny. Now, if I get up to 170 (which I never will) I will no longer be considered "small", but I would still be considered "short".

Perfect example: Snoop Dogg stands at around 6'3, yet he weighs no more than I do, despite being 7 inches taller than me. Do people consider him small? No. Skinny, yes, small, no. My point is, determining when to not consider a guy "small" has more to do with height, and not weight...for the most part, anyway.

So, in summary, it's hard to answer (for ME, anyway).

Minimumweights are just freakishly small men. 12 year old girls weigh as much as they do.

    168. I've always considered Super Middleweight to be in the same category as Light Heavy and Cruiser as 'bigger than average' guys

I think you have to go by the weight categories on this one. Using Clottey as a representation of his weight division is silly, and only confuses things

MW below. Middleweight boxers can go as high as Light Heavy. If Manny Pacquiao or Mayweather (who all started boxing at 106) could at least fight at MW, then this breaks the case.

135 - transition between small small men, to big small men

168 - transition between big small men, to big big men

200+ - transition between big big men, to elephants

middleweights seem like small guys in the ring- cos theyre stripped and nothing but muscle. but these are broad 6 foot 2 guys. if you saw bernard hopkins in person- you d think he was a beast. welterweights are normal sized people- that shrink down to an amainzingly small weight on fight night. these guys like cintron, clottey, mosley are all around 5'10 more or less, the average height, and walk around at about 160- then lose i for the fight.

I agree Tall guys like Genaro Hernandez(who ive met several times) looks like a Decent size guy now that he is older since he packed on about 30 lbs since his fighting days. Ive met Jorge paez and he is on the small side but yet these 2 fought eachother. Aaron Pryor is shorter than me but kind of thick and his fist were twice the size of mine when i took a picture.

I went for 160, as it is a weight that is so often a bridge too far for fighters from lower weight divisions.
