Now that Shane Mosley is willing to go down to PAC's territory at 140, at what weight PAC and Mosley should fight?

140 - Mosley challenges for PAC's Ring/IBO jr. welter belts

    143 - midpoint catchweight between 140 and 147

147 - PAC challenges for Mosley's WBA welter belt

Vote in the poll and discuss...

As big a Pac fan as I am I just don't see Pac beating Mosely at 147. Mosely will come into the fight at 160. Pac can't go above 147/8. 13 pounds is just too much of an advantage.

Mosely will be too big and too powerful. Add to that he has a great chin and big power and it's a bad weight for Pac.

Having it at a catchweight means it evens the playing field. Having it at 140 means Pac will get no credit whatsoever for the win by haters.

I posted this in another thread but I think it really does sum up the situation if the fight is at 140:

This is a win/win situation for Mosley.

If he loses he can say he was 'weight drained' (I f*cking hate that f*cking word) and walks away the loser but with a HUGE HUGE payday and exposure.

If he wins he will be the KING and sets himself up for the biggest fight in recent memory against Mayweather Jr.

Pac on the other hand is in a LOSE/LOSE situation. If he loses at 140 against an apparent 'weight drained' Mosely there will be no excuses for him. And if he wins the haters and non-haters will be out in their millions saying Mosely was weight drained. And there is no belt to be gained from it for Pac.

This is a bad fight for Pac all round. A GREAT fight for Mosely.

    Pac should fight Mayweather.

I think this is what everybody is generally saying:

Mosley too big for PAC at 147...

Mosley too drained for PAC at 140...

    So... then... what?....

They should fight at whatever weight Pac has the balls to accept the fight at.

J*sus, just have the fight at 147 but put a cap on how much Mosely or Cotto can bloat.

The whole reason why this whole fiasco is happening is to stop Mosely or Cotto coming into the fight 13 pounds or so heavier than Pac. So just stipulate in the contract that they can't bloat above a certain weight.

    140 or 147 . . . no catchweight.

If they want catch weight . . . no title at stake. :deal
