    2-0 Castillo. Deal

Whitaker/Oscar continues being Chavez Sr's daddies.

Where would you put Foreman and Frazier?

I don't think I can ever change my top 5 order.
I don't put Marciano in my top 20 for shittttt. Outboxed by J.J.W until he delivers his punchers chance, beats past their prime top fighters, but still a top fighter.

I have the feeling that Mayweather will get that special victory, when he'll be past his prime, that'll give him true recognition. Something like Holmes vs Mercer, Hopkins vs Trinidad (or Pavlik, Pascal, etc...) or even Hearns vs Hill. Seeing a gifted fighter beat Victor Ortiz is nothing to write home about, but seeing an old gifted fighter above 40 years old beat a young lion is something else.

I think he'll rank above Chavez one day.

    ? That's my ATG list, not a head-to-head list.

Head-to-head, I pick Mayweather to beat Chavez.

He will retire before he gets a chance to beat a young lion at a very old age.
He may only fight 4 fighters maximum:
    Guerrero
    Alvarez
    a recovered Pacquiao
    Bradley/Garcia

    For you.

However, rankings can't be separated that much from popularity, because it's a sport and not organic chemistry. Right or wrong, more people would rank Chavez higher than Mayweather nowadays.

    Yes "Most" people

Unfortunately, most people have no real knowledge of the sport and simply bandwagon/nuthug popular fighters of the past.

When you have guys on this forum (80% of them) claiming that Ali is the greatest of all time, you know there's problems.

In addition, I have an extensive knowledge of the sport and even though the things I say are controversial, it's almost 100% correct and I definitely know more about boxing than most people on this forum.

Chavez did indeed fight bums for most of his career and never really had a CAREER defining ATG win. His longevity is amazing, had some GOOD wins but never an ATG win.

    2 wins over Taylor sure
    Rosario was a good win
    Camacho meh
    Haugen meh
    Rog meh
    Ramirez meh
    Limon meh.

He never could beat Oscar/Whitaker. When faced with the best fighters, he folded under the pressure. That's why he will never rank above Floyd. Floyds undefeated, beat HOFS, great longevity.

I see Chavez like a Vitali/Wlad Klitschko. Beats a lot of decently good fighters but when faced with the best, they never could get it done.

Floyd did beat Castillo. The first fight was 50/50 with Floyd havig a torn e rotator cuff. He was also 24 years old and moving up in weight for the first time. Not exactly the Mayweather who fought Gatti was it? Chavez got absolutely schooled by Whitaker and Meldrick Taylor who is inferior to Floyd was on his way to winning before a questionable stoppage.

    A little defensive there buddy.
