Seriously: How much time do you think you spend defending/promoting Slappy each week?

Notice how Bailey and the majority of ESB will ignore this post

Bailey rims calzaghe and is page on Boxrec
Bailey is probably a virgin that try's to get away from life by going on ESB
Baily still struggled to find acceptance because he tried to hard

Therefore is Bailey really calzaghes biggest fanboy?

Notice how bailey gets away from the main point of the argument by undermining the post and questioning it without responding to it in correct critical fashion

Or refusing to admit that he spends an inordinate amount of time defending and promoting his idol online.

I was starting to think he's Calzaghe's Mum lol.

(S)He actually does have some good arguments, after all Calzaghe was pretty good if not quite great. But it doesnt help that (s)he colours them with baised statements like 'good away win for Calzaghe' when it was barely a win - bias doesnt help.

its always clear to see when bailey has brutally dismantled minnions

they stop debating the facts and resort to petulant insults.

A prime Jones jr would of beat Calzaghe and Ward. Neither of the two possessed the skill or speed that Jones had. It's to bad Jones and Calzaghe met when they did. Because if they met before Jones aged, we would of seen a totally different fight with a different winner.

I think Calzaghe would have been prime RJJ's toughest comp at 168, because he's slightly taller, a southpaw, has skills and grit. Roy would outpoint him but it would have been close.

Hating boxers is pretty pathetic. Hating a fan of a specific boxer is even more ridiculous.

Bailey tends to put to much spin on his "facts", but it is not like yanks crying out how Calzaghe hid in Wales fighting bums for his whole career offers a better read.

Agreed. Fighters deserve respect and fans are what keeps the sport alive.

It just sucks that every thread on ESB that could somehow, possibly be spun to promote or criticize Slappy turns into a one-sided Bailey boxrec barrage. The guy spends hours upon hours researching this subject in hopes of unloading on somebody.

At some point in time, he needs to realize that 99.9% of the boxing public will never consider Slappy to be 1/2 as good as he considers him to be. When that day comes, people will realize that lost in his overzealous bias are some damn good pieces of information and give him some respect.

Ok, I understand all of this and I agree with you. The issue here is the wording of my post.

I said Calzaghe has a weak career resume, and dude I promise I'm a Calzaghe fan, but you have to admit it IS pretty weak.

I said Ward has a decent resume, which I agree would NOT be decent if he ended his career now. My point was, for his age and where he's at in his career, he has a decent resume.

And just to reiterate, I still had Calzaghe first and Ward last on my list.
