If people don't like the fact that it's on PPV then they don't have to buy the damn fight. People act like they are forced to buy a Floyd fight.

It goes beyond that. It's the embarrassment Floyd is to boxing.

Yep, being the top rated highest paid fighter in the sport for more than a decade is embarrassing

So now it's been proven Mayweather's resume is actually brilliant when you shine the same intensity of light on other fighter's resumes, it's only because he says he's TBE that you feel aggrieved, nobody thinks he's TBE apart from a few nutjobs so that shouldn't cloud his achievements since nobody takes it seriously and Floyd's allowed his own opinion/marketing ploy.

Floyd is the highest paid and most watched fighter on the globe so obviously fans have approved of his opponent selection over the years....

Joe Frazier's only other fight in 1971 was against Daniels (who was a clear step down in terms of quality, p4p, from Berto). People gave Joe a pass because he had just faced and defeated Ali.

On the list, Mugabi and Paz were more relevant than Berto.

Evangelista, Daniels, Roman, Bonds were much less relevant than Andre.

Cooper was a late sub when he faced Holyfield, so no comparison can or should be drawn in that case.

Dokes would have been more relevant...but was shot to hell by that point.

Historically, Berto's better than some come-down fights...worse than others. Had it not been a PPV fight, and ostensibly Floyd's last go-round, it wouldn't appear like such an egregious choice. But it is, so people are naturally annoyed.

Floyd just made what? $275 million? He could fight Miley Cyrus if he wanted to, on a $100 PPV.

You guys don't understand the Golden Rule: "He who has the gold, RULES".

If you had $275 mill in the bank (ok, less taxes it comes to about $180 mill), none of you would even bother getting out of bed in the morning.

He owes nothing to his fans...OK it would have been magnanimous of him to fight for free in Central Park, but he's risking physical injury just like any other boxer, and this isn't Simon and Garfunkel, this is boxing.

Yeah, that's the one that really stood out. Mugabi was surely a level above Berto. Otherwise, they are all reasonably comparable fighters at the time these guys fought them.

The Mugabi fight shouldn't be listed. But I see the point you're making.
