And why would you pay for something you don't want to see? You don't approve of his opponents you don't buy the fight, his PPV numbers clearly demonstrate that his opponent selection has met fan approval...

Well I can't speak for those who got suckered into his sparring matches as I never once paid for a Mayweather fight..But then again I can't explain why he drew so much his fights aren't memorable nor does he produce constant Ko 's .And it was most
casuals that brought his fights really they will buy anything if your promote it right

When a fighter proves himself with a career-defining win and every contender's clamouring to fight him, he shows what he's really made of by who he next fights. A true champion doesn't take a gimme, he takes the responsibility of fighting the best.

I see you skipped over Ali fighting Frazier in the same year ! Contender fought each other . Sometimes there was no one available . Today's boxing is a circus like WWE .

Yes, decades ago, when boxers fought more often it was normal to take an easy fight after a tough one.

Nowadays boxers fight twice a year, so they should fight the best opponents available.

I don't know about you but have you not understood that there are many people, millions of them who enjoy the sweet science? I have never been disappointed watching Floyd display his talents in the ring. Do you have something against pure boxing? Nobody...even casuals buy Floyd PPV's expecting to see a brawl. If anything we are intrigued to find out if anyone can break his impregnable defense, you apparently thought #48 could......sorry you were let down!

It might just be me, but I think the difference in class between Floyd/Manny and everyone else in the WW division will be even more obvious when they retire.

Mayweather has done everything that he needs to do in boxing. He has fought three generations of fighters. It's time for the next generation to establish it's own pecking order. Mayweather is bowing out and still fighting a fighter that's closer to the next generation. People put their expectations on the man and when he doesn't do what they expect him to do then they act out by labeling him a coward or a cheat or numerous other BS labels. The fact is that the man is a true champion and has served boxing well. This is the man's farewell fight and whomever he fights is alright.

Don't justify this fight. There's no need.

Floyd fans will be happy to see him fight because they love him.

Everyone else sees it as a ****e fight, which it is, more so because it's a voluntary and the likes of Khan, Brook and Thurman were begging to fight him.

Floyd says he's the greatest ever, fighting someone who's lost 3 of their last 6 fights and 2 of those guys floyd's already defeated easily, it's nothing but a joke and spit in every fans face. If this was a warm up fight for GGG or something big, so be it, he gets a pass, but its not. Floyd is simply just trying to take the path of least resistance to keep his undefeated record alive and make some easy money. If he wants to call himself the best ever, he's created a standard for himself and isn't living up to it whatsoever, big shocker. Its because he's not the greatest, not even close. If he was, he would face and beat GGG, a true, legit challenger in their prime.
But instead he faces berto, a complete and utter bum and puts it on PPV when it should be on free tv. I can't wait to see how bad this fight flops.

It's a retirement fight, you know what that means? He is leaving the sport, hanging up the gloves, there is nothing left for Mayweather to prove, in case you forgot he has fought from 1996-2015, that spans 3 boxing generations. In theose years he has beat more champions than any other fighter in history, Hall of Famer, All Time Great, PPV record holder, job done!

After September you'll have to find some other fighter to hate on
