See that 'wasteful', innocuous hop? He uses that to ever so slightly close the distance without you even noticing. That sneaky backhand he uses if he misses with the right so he can continue throwing unimpeded? Just a tiny scratch in the multi faceted swarmers repertoire.

The most skilled swarmer ever, with an ATG jab too.

This man was robbed of an incredibly unique and impressive achievement.

Had he got the Famechon decision, which he probably deserved, he'd have been the only fighter that I can recall who would've won the flyweight title, bantamweight title, and featherweight titles.

Added to his wins over Jofre, Pone, Medel, Rudkin, Caraballo, Aoki and the like, and it's already an exceptional résumé. He's a top 30 P4P fighter for me.

The war with Aoki is absolutely amazing.

Honestly, there is no probably about it. He clearly beat Famechon, and scored one of the clearest knockdowns I've ever seen towards the end, which was ruled a slip.

Fans would absolutely savage Willie Pep if he performed reffing like that today. Biased isn't the word for it.

Had he been given the Famechon decision then there is no doubt he would've been 1960's Fighter of the Decade (which currently belongs to Jofre).

He also lost a silly decision to Pone who only won due to home court advantage. Not a bigger robbery than Griffith vs Tiger or Griffith wins over Manuel Rodriguez in the same decade

Yeah, disgraceful. Harada was on the bad end of a few losses coming to think of it.

Although, has there really never been a BW, Fly and FW champ?

Actually, looking at it, the 60s were crazy stacked. I disagree when Ali is mentioned in the FOTD discussion. I like Jofre, Saldívar, Harada, Griffith, Rodriguez ect. over Ali.

IMO from what I know it should've been Griffith.

    No Ali was more effective.

Ali would never have been knocked out in 1 round by a fighter like Carter P4P.

Mark, Ali didn't achieve enough. His 60s run is meh compared to what those guys did.

Also, can you not come into a good thread and degenerate an underappreciated ATG for the sake of an offhanded comment? Please and thank you.
