    A perfectly poised fight tumbled into on-sidedness late in the day as Benny Lynch of Scotland out-monstered a brave and skilled Willie Davies down the stretch to take a clear unanimous decision; the Scotsman told press afterwards, "given the great country in which I was raised, there was very little doubt that I was going to win this fight. Davies is good though, i doff my tartan cap to him."

    I was too late to vote on account of changing my mind more than Mavis from Open All Hours, but I'll not lie, if I'd had to choose, I'd have picked Benny purely for being Scottish and managing to go a career never grabbing an opponent by the chest hair on the opening bell and sticking his glorious wee heed on them with a Begbie-esque roar. That's restraint for you, big time.
