im debating on these four greats for the 50th spot in my personal ATG ranking. as of now, im siding on fighting harada
This is a tough 1, Ortiz has the best resume, Gomez probably the best ever at his weight class, Pryor the best single win. Harada ofcourse has the Jofre wins. P4P head to head all are quite close too. Given both were LW and LWWs, Ortiz v Pryor at 137.5lbs and another catch weight fight as Harada-Gomez at 120lbs I see Gomez and Pryor coming through
Ortiz Harada Gomez Pryor I'd say Gomez pre-Sanchez is possibly the best fighter I've ever seen. Possibly. I say Ortiz, I have him at about 16 on my post-war top 100 P4P list. I have Harada at about 18/19, Gomez in the late 30's, Pryor in the 40's.
Going by resume, one would have to give the highest ranking here to Carlos Ortis who I believe has beaten 6 Hall of Famers.
Ortiz Harada Gomez Pryor for me anyway. Like Fleaman said Gomez was a truly amazing boxer one of the best to watch. Like Lionel Rose in that respect. harada and Ortiz are hell of a close though
Id give the slight edge to Harada..but with such little distance between he and Ortiz that you could easily argue Carlos over him. Aaron is a fair bit below these guys however IMO..Wilfredo would just be a little behind Carlos, within 10-15 spots or so.
