Starting at a round of 16 each fighter at their absolute peak Winners of each fight the winner of the matchup who is vertically in line with them, then after that it’s who is next to eachother horizontally. (Edit, it’s not aligned it the same as when I was making the thread compared to after posting, but just following the format demonstration) Holyfield vs V Klitschko| Lewis vs W Klitschko| Frazier vs Louis| Liston vs Holmes Foreman vs M Tyson| Dempsey vs Marciano| Ali vs Norton| Usyk vs Bowe My opinion and format demonstration Holyfield W Lewis W Marciano W Frazier W Holmes W Ali W Usyk W Holyfield vs Foreman Lewis vs Marciano Ali vs Frazier Usyk vs Holmes Foreman W Lewis W Ali W Usyk W Lewis vs Foreman Ali vs Usyk Lewis W Ali W Lennox Lewis vs Muhammad Ali Opening bell sounds, both trying to find their range and establish control, Ali feinting, Lewis on the front foot a very tactical affair with neither man wanting to overcommit, but Lewis is the one forcing the action more and getting the better of the jabbing affair whilst not overcommitting to get countered, he’s mindful of that. The difference really does come down to the height and reach and considering how skilled they both are at range, it’s the fine margins like reach which decide it, neither makes any silly mistakes, but Lewis nicks it in a dull affair, whilst occasionally getting chance to open up when Ali has nowhere to go and no room to counter whilst in the corner/on the ropes. Lennox Lewis crowned champion of the tournament!!! How do this tournament go in your opinion?
Wouldn’t get past Frank Moran if he were around back in the day. He would be a Battling Jim Johnson calibre fighter
It really depends on who is drawn vs who since styles makes fights. I would say having 20 guys works: Ali Louis Holmes Foreman Liston Lewis Holyfield Tyson Marciano Frazier Wlad Bowe Dempsey Vitali Usyk Schmeling Hard to rank any of the pre Dempsey guys h2h due to lack of good footage available. I like your concept but i think a draw will have to be random. Who gets drawn vs who matters. If Frazier is drawn vs Foreman in round 1, its game over. But if Frazier draws Usyk early, Usyk will struggle
Bracket 1 Holyfield Lewis Frazier Liston Foreman Dempsey Ali Usyk Bracket 2 Holy vs Lewis: Hmmmm. 50-50. Gun to my head, Holyfield because he's one of my favorites. Liston VS Frazier: Liston Foreman vs Dempsey: Foreman Ali vs Usyk: Ali Semi - Finals Holyfield vs Liston: Liston Foreman vs Ali: Ali Finals Liston vs Ali: Ali.
Holyfield, Lewis, Frazier, Holmes, Foreman, Dempsey, Ali, and Usyk advance in all of their initial matches. Lewis wins out over Holyfield. Holmes gets a decision over Frazier. Foreman knocks out Dempsey. Ali - Usyk is really close for me, I really don't know who to pick here, but I guess I'll go with Oleksandr. Holmes beats Lewis. Foreman - Usyk is also a test of the mind, but I think with how much Oleksandr has gotten tagged against lesser opposition, I guess I'll have to go with George. Holmes beats Foreman to take the whole tournament. I think that the whole thing mostly comes down to who gets matched up against who, as early eliminations matter a lot due to how certain fighters have stylistic advantages over others. Most men could take this if the matched were laid out differently.
