Lomachenko averaged almost 40 fights a year as an amateur - over 10 years. So he must have been boxing pretty consistently. And with almost 400 amateur matches that saw him pick up Euro, World (x2) and Olympic(x2) titles, he must have honed his skills against all kinds of different styles. The thing about Loma is, that after just over a dozen pro fight, we likely have already seen the best of him! At 31, he may be able to continue at this level for another 2-3 years (before the wear and tear from all those am bouts starts to kick in)… but it's highly unlikely, that he will reach the 35 pro fights, which some posters here apparently feel should be the minimum, for someone to be considered an ATG. That's why I'm so pleased to see, that Inoue has only just turned 26! And with a much less strenuous am career than Loma… who knows, he could have something like 7-8 good years left, where he, hopefully, will continue to dazzle us!
