Ahh, another scintillating match up. This one would be a blur of skills and a almost certainly a boxing masterpiece.

Billy Conn, who beat Tommy Loughran to get his place here, fights John Henry, who beat Saad Muhammad to acquire his placement.

How does this one go down? No Post, No Vote.

I see this fight going right down to the wire with Conn's speed the factor and just eking out the harder punching Lewis.

I just don't know how to judge this given that I have never seen any footage of John Henry except against Louis.

Conn by decision but I can't tell

I like Conn's resume better. That's about all I can base it on without the lack of film on Lewis. Conn UD

Agreed it is hard to fathom without more film of Lewis ( apart from the Louis bomb out ) what I would say is Conn was a tough hombre, his fights with Apostoli, Krieger, Bettina, were by all accounts brutal slug fests that left him bruised and battered for weeks afterwards, in particular the Apostoli fights, Conn is quoted " I was out of shape for the fight, Apostoli was a bad man to be out of shape with " So will go with Conn on a close points win.

The superior power of Lewis is the difference as he lands the harder blows to sneak an uber tight split verdict.

Hard to say, but I think Conn just had that bit more special to him

You *******s! I wanted Lewis in the final!

Anyway, my inclination of how this one goes down is more or less an ATG two-way technical fight, where the two speedsters dash in and try and establish constants, whilst adapting to the variables. Lewis' body work is gonna really hinder Conn's speed late imo, which is actually why I pick him, Conn's defence and footwork is gonna give Lewis huge thinking points like Rosenbloom's did, but Conn doesn't have the workrate I've read about Maxie having, and that gives Lewis thinking time. Conn's minimalist efforts are going to be tested thoroughly, and if anyone is cut out to beat Conn at his own game; It's John Henry Lewis.

I basically see the first 10-12 even, then Lewis takes it late.

    Lewis UD15.

    W-wayyyy it's a draw, and I break the ties.

Lewis is through! With Moore, Spinks and Qawi!
