I mostly agree with everything so far given the tiers. Tiger could almost be argued as iron but i think on reflection titanium is correct. To be precise i'd have him in the bottom half of titanium and a guy like Hagler in the top. I see Griffith easing into the realm of solid. Sure the Carter quickie KO hurts but then i look at Duran and his shock one off against Hearns and i would give him a touch of leeway based on his rock solid record elsewhere even when declining. To go 14 with Monzon at that stage and then 15 a couple of years later is very impressive. Monzon was tough work over 15 and tho it doesn't count as such he was extra tough work on small men that moved up. Very late career he was going the distance twice with Briscoe too. Nino gave him trouble at times but the reverse is also true. I see him as a half level up on Nino personally. Canelo and GGG fine at titanium, they proved it against each other for mine. Lytell too. O'Dowd is titanium for me, besides his record just look at that damn head.
yes the bullethead is impressive, but is it a distraction? I'm not sure that LbyKO1 at the weight and titanium are compatible. O'Dowd was a fully operating machine in 22 but was absolutely splattered in 23, it's very close to one-shotted (he did get badly hurt by a punch to the heart right before).
I'm taking into account being 117 deep over a decade. Admittedly there was some chaff in there but he fought a lot of rounds as stopping people early wasn't common. Malone wasn't a big puncher so i ponder whether he simply lost it (chin) almost overnight like an O'Grady or Hamsho.
Without footage I don't think O'Dowd has the punchers on his record for me to guess his chin as titanium. Not KO'd until his final fight, is enough for me to estimate it as iron, though.
O'Dowd probably rates as Iron; was down against Downey in '22 and suffered that KO loss in the last fight of his career, but apparently wasn't down at any point prior to that.
Likewise, I'd have no objection to titanium, iron is my guess, buy only a guess. I'm not as confident in assessing O'Dowd's punch resistance as I am GGG vs Canelo.
Alright alright alright, seems like O'Dowd is creating a lot of uncertainty with good reason, for me, the KO1 is enough to pop him into iron rather than Titanium. Rest in Peace that Iron Jaw.
So Gene Fullmer - knocked out by one punch but possibly still in the running for the highest honours. Fullmer was stopped twice, once in a manager-rescues situation but once by a punch, maybe the greatest knockout of all: This content is protected "I don't know nothing about that punch except I saw it in the movies a couple of times." Despite what he's famous for, Fullmer had a jaw of renowned and had previously done 15 with Sugar without incident - not to mention his surviving guys like Eduardo Lausse and Florentino Fernandez for 55-6-3. You stated the only KD he ever suffered was his last fight KO. It seems he may have been dropped prior?
