The only bet i'd take on that fight is that i won't be awake at the end of it.

I think all of them could. Ruiz was not that good. Tiger might not have been able to.

I think we are getting a little to far with this...

John Ruiz lost to exceptional middleweights who had the ability fight effectively while moving up in weight.

Carlos Monzon could not move up to HW and maintain his effectiveness nor could Dick Tiger.

Marvin Hagler wouldn't even move up to LHW because I'm pretty sure he knew that he would not be effective. If he were to move up to HW all his advantages would be negated by facing a bigger and stronger man.

Ruiz would KO Dick Tiger, Marvin Hagler, Carlos Monzon. I seriously doubt Bernard Hopkins could beat Ruiz. I seriously doubt that Bhop could fight effectively at HW.

Lets give credit to where credit is due; James Toney was able fight as a heavyweight due to his style. Roy Jones was an exceptional fighter whose physical gifts cannot be ignored. The notion that any old middleweight can replicate the same feats that Roy and James did just because Ruiz appeared subpar is baseless.
