Lol, prime 25 year-old Foreman lost to past prime Ali in 1974, 23 years later a fat, almost 50 year-old Foreman should have got the decision against prime Shannon Briggs but was robbed, in Briggs' next fight he got KO'd in 5 by Lennox Lewis. Fast forward again to 13 years later and Briggs at the age of 40 and shot is still seen as good enough to challenge for a World title. So yeah, the 60's and 70's heavyweights couldn't compete with todays heavyweights because heavyweight boxing has evolved so much:rofl
Against past ATG's like Louis, Liston, Ali, Frazier and Foreman if Wlad fights with a ref that actually enforces the rules of boxing then he either gets DQ'd or KO'd.
So by that logic Wlad's position can only get lower as time goes on? I mean, if boxing is continually evolving, then by rights the next dominant champ and all the ones after that will be better than Wlad, no?
I see what you mean. Obviously Leonard,Hagler,Hearns,Duran,Benitez,Prior and Arguello from the eighties would all be whipped by the modern day luminaries.
well I personally think that the way Ali atained his titles against the opponents is something to behold. Still however it's going to be intresting to see how Wladimir will do in the next couple of years.
