According to some article on B x ng N Ws.

Not going to judge but it's hard to see these great fighters you grew up with
not being able to make ends meet once they retire from the sport:-(

    really???

let me help you non reading, no comprehension having mufcukas out.

house was bought for whitakers mom.

there's this thing called property taxes. she never paid them.

the house is still in whitakers name.

she owes about $175k in property taxes. the house is headed for foreclosure.

the house is worth $375k. if he sells it (it's still in his name) he can pay off the taxes.

if he lets his mom stay...she gets evicted and the house goes on the chopping block.

he'll still owe $175k in taxes for a house she was living in.

    what would you do???

keep in mind...it's in your name....hence...it's your credit being ruined.

If he just put the house in her name she could have qualitied for a tax deferment assuming she is over 65. Regardless the income tax is the responsibility of whomever is the legal owner of the residence and that was Pernell.

Some serious communication issues going on here.

On a 375k house it would take well over 20 years for 175K in property taxes to accumulate.

Looks like Ma may've been a bit of a freeloader and Pernell decided enough was enough...at least that's what I got going from Pernell's reaction to the whole thing.

would've taken over 60 years probably

she could've just gotten a reverse mortgage on it if she needed to, if it was free and clear

For whatever reason the home was still in Pernell's name. That's the odd thing because the property tax bills would have been sent to the home's legal owner(Pernell).

I guess this is what happens when brief periods of wealth collide with extensive periods of ignorance and dysfunction.

All that's cool, but that **** don't pay the bills.

How can one's mama ever be considered a freeloader? Where's the love.

I'm not saying I'm agreeing with Sweet Pea on it, that's just the vibe I got from his reaction.

Frankly, the whole thing's pretty messed up and sad no matter how you look at it....
