Thats not how he described it on Champions Forever if I remember right. I remember he saying how something or other happened (he had no clue) and he went off of the mountain, and hit the only tree on it.
Chuvalo McCall Bruno It's a strange world where the above are fully articulate and Benitez is punch drunk.
It's just plain weird, Ollie seems more coherant and intelligent now these days than he ever was, even after all the drug abuse and punches to the head. He had an interview on a boxing site (the name escapes me at the moment, might've been Seconds Out) where he was very lucid and rational about his career and future goals. The man has ungodly durability. Imagine just how strong he would've been physically and mentally without all his personal problems.
I admire that. I couldn't understand a single word he or Ali said on that documentary. I would say drugs have a bad influence on it as well, but then again, McCall and Bruno have been on drugs for a long time. I saw a Brittish documentary on Bruno, quite a nice one, Frank Bruno Gloves off. I do think his health had deteriorated quite a bit. Also because of drugs and mental problems.
How's JC Chavez's lucidity? Incredible to think he was knocked down once in over 100 professional fights. As a pressure fighter he must have taken more blows then a Meldrick Taylor. Do these tough Mexicans have a greater ability to absorb punishment without effect or what?
He sexually assaulted his fiance in 1998. He got sentenced 4-15 years in prsion. A few years back, he reportedly broke an immate jaw after a sparring session. He would let immates spar with him, just to say they had worked out with a heavyweight champ, only they couldn't hit him in the face. This particular immate tagged him, and the inevitable happened.
I reckon roger mayweather, senior and junior, (i think jeff maybe went to a different maternity ward or got mixed up at birth.) had brain damage BEFORE they even laced them up..... Of course only floyd is potentially an atg of these.
