1 - Miguel Canto - Best combination of dominance, ability, and resume on show.

2 - Marco Antonio Barrera - One of the most complete, coupled with a great resume by contemporary standards, and longevity.

3 - Oscar De La Hoya - Just put him ahead of Morales for his level of competition, but he's below Marco because he wasn't as complete, and lost his biggest fights.

4 - Erik Morales - Beat Jones and Pacquiao, Barrera's conquerors, but lost all 3 Barrera fights in my judgement and wasn't as complete as his rival.

    5. Carlos Zarate - Lacking the resume and longevity to be higher, but was more consistent than Marquez at their optimal weights.

    6. Juan Manuel Marquez - Skilled? Sure, but he's missing a signature win and had a few bumps in the road during his title reign.

    7. Ricardo Lopez - Never fought a great fighter in his entire career.

Addie no way is Canto above those guys, also only thing Delahoya was missing from his arsenal was a big right hand but he was definitly the whole package. You mentioned Marquez not having a signature win but he deserved at least 1 of those fights with Marquez . I thought a draw was fair in the first one, but even that one can be argued for Marques thought he won the 2nd one by 2 points.

For what reason? The ultimate measure of a fighter is to evaluate their competition and Ricardo's just damn right stinks.

Cardo is a bit underrated in a general sense..to the casual fan straweight is a way to measure hay bails.

But he gets appropriately rated here...Its like with some people he is the only guy under bantamweight they have ever heard of.

Hands down one of the best, most technically solid fighters I have seen at any weight...but the names are just not there on his record.

Lopez was a great technician, that much is common knowledge, but who's to say he would have looked as efficient as he did if he was fighting the same level competition as other guys on this list? Barrera, Morales, and Marquez all deserve to be higher in my judgment because they fought and beat better fighters. All of them would have made a mockery of the same level fighters Ricardo was accustomed to fighting in his title defenses.
