Somewhere in the top 50. Don't have a list so I'm not going to say "top 25" or "top 35." Rates higher than anybody of this era. That's all I'm sure of.
Actually im very aware of how exclusive that group is. Now many here would probably be suprised that im about to back up pac. As many times ill pick against him in HTH matchups. For example i think he'd be made for Sanchez at Fw,lose to Chavez at Jl,Lw,Jw, lose to Duran at any weight.. And HTH a number of WW would have beat him.. However considering his jump from Jr fly to Jm, and winnig titles in all those divisions.. I rank him very high in atg PFP list..... Not since Henry Armstrong(who i have 2nd) has any fighter come close to matching Pacs jump... And my guess is that most of us here will not ever see another fighter match that feat again. As of right now i have Pac around 10ish... No lower than 15... If he can beat Pac impressively he would easily be in my top10 . Have to remember alot of these greats are gonna be ranked much higher 20,30 years from now... When we are crticicizing the fighters of 2030s and saying they didnt make them like they used do... .. THats how it is the guys from the 70s,80s and even 90s are like boxing gods now but believe me they had their haters too back then. That being said though i think Mayweather would beat him.
I dont have the knowledge of boxing before the 60's to make a atg list, I would need to study it more and watch some fighters from the 50's /80's way better. I will say this, pac is top 5 from the 80's till now
Top 10 and if he beats either Mayweather or Martinez before he retires he has a strong case for #1 (yeah, laugh at me, call me a *******, we'll talk again in 20 years when people gain a more objective view about the subject). That is if he doesn't lose till he retires, a loss could obviously hurt his legacy. But no way he falls out of the Top 25, no way.
Agreed he could get kod by Mosely,Mayweather and Victor Ortiz and still have a top 25 spot all sewed up... Just based on everything hes already done.
I can't see how beating ONE fighter would make him the GOAT, sorry, top 10 or not, you can't just jump that far in greatness over a single win!
Because there isnt a whole lot separating a big group of guys... Have you ever made up a list? If you have im sure you have wanted to switch them around many times. I found out that sometimes a guy at number 8 is kind of on par with a guy at 14 or 15. One win over an elite fighter from your time(and fellow atg) can make a big difference.
If Pac retires after the Mosley fight, I think eventually many will be ranking him comfortably within top 15. Beatin Mayweather will be a great achievement and pushes him well inside top 10.
