Yeah, and Mayweather has made an impact without Manny. My point is that Manny's road to true immortality is paved. Mayweather would need to impliment a different matchmaking policy than is normal for him.

I totally disagree about beating JMM and Pac not doing much for Mayweather, it will do a lot. Maybe immediately after the fight or 2 months after people will look down on it but in the long run it will be highly appreciated and understood.

People might hate change but also tend to accept some of the new great fighters eventually. Lewis was laughed at and looked down at by almost everyone when he announced his retirement and if anyone had him in top 10 ATG heavyweight lists they were insulted and questioned. This is a few years later and now everyone supports the idea of having him in top 10 lists if not top 5.

People move on eventually and get enough time to watch more and judge better.

I agree. Particularly, in regards to pacman....Floyd will likely be a VERY SMALL favorite vs pacman. In fact, many think Pacman is the better fighter right now. If he beat Pacman decisively, it'd do wonders for his legacy IMO. And if he were to loss to pacman it would be devestating for his legacy.

Straight up, We are long away from a Pacquiao Vs. Mayweather Jr. fight.
(Or about as close as we were to a Bowe Vs. Lewis fight back in '92)

Mayweather still has to beat JMM.
    (deal w/Arum)

Potentialy Pacquaio would have to also defeat Cotto first.
(again...Should Cotto make it past Clottey)
Or whoever he fight's in Dec.^^ (should Cotto lose)

IMO, It defo will not be the winner of Mayweather/JMM tho. almost 100% on that.

This potential fight would still be like 2 fights away..
A loss by either would squash the demand.

A top WW beating a pair of top LWs will not earn any credit for ATG purpose!
