Good post. Too bad Hagler didn't have legends from his own division. He had to fight Hearns,Leonard and Duran, but something tells me he would have done well with guys in his division. He was a solid middleweight and very strong. Marvin's win over Hearns is his shining moment. That is the fight he will always be remembered for and his legacy stands on. Not a bad fight to be remembered for.

Pacman is definitely above all those guys.... He's less than Duran and Leonard but he above those other guys.

I think you made a bigger ass of yourself with that statement than any of us could've made with a rebuttal. Sugar's a senile old hack these days.

Fact is that Hearns fought and beat Cuevas,Benitez,Duran and Hill and fought Leonard twice and Hagler in a great fight. JCC not beating many HOF fighters hurts him. He has some good wins against Rosario and Mayweather and Lockridge, but nothing to put him above Hagler and Hearns who fought better elite guys who were ATGs.

If he beats Mayweather, its fair to rank him over any of those guys, he`s Hagler type level just now IMO, just a little short of Pea & Chavez.

It is amazing how people put Chavez ahead of Hagler when Hagler's resume had better names on it.

Hagler threw a fight with a man he was dying to fight & beat for yrs knowing that the winner would surely be remembered as the best of the era ?

    Comedy gold :good

Not much between them but the man was a champ in 3 divisions & is a top 3 all time fighter in 2 of those (130 & 140) & his best weight was actually 135, he never stayed there long enough tho.

He reached 87-0 & was 31 before 1st tasting defeat, you can only beat who`s there & he did that for a good while.

I think you would have more credibility on this site if your threads were not just single-sentence claims. You need to actually explain your points, say WHY you think these things, not just have a thread where your thread-starting post is the same as the title of the thread. It just makes you look like an attention ***** with nothing to say of any value.

Anyway, I agree with you on Hagler and Chavez. I think both men had better ability than Pacquiao (Hagler by a mile, Chavez by a bit less than that), but now I can indeed see a legitimate case for ranking Pacquiao higher than them both.

Whitaker though?? Forget it. Maybe if Pac beats Floyd we can entertain the prospect of having him higher on career accomplishments etc, but not now. No.
