ATG- who do you rate higher- Barerra or Marquez

The question is prime for prime. MAB was in his prime at 122. If you're talking about a fight at FW, I still think MAB takes it in 2001, your opinion may vary and that's fine, they're both great fighters.

JMM is at his best when he boxes. A prime or near prime MAB boxes imho just as well as JMM, and has the added bonus of being able to go completely vicious at any moment. Pac isn't that much faster, and doesn't hit that much harder than prime MAB, and isn't nearly as accurate despite what you *******s may think. The fact that MAB and JMM are nearly the same age doesn't mean much. MAB had his wars early, and JMM has just aged better. MAB is older than EM too and would crush him right now. Does that mean MAB has ALWAYS been able to crush EM? I don't think so.

 

I don't particuarly like pac and prefer barrera as a fighter so that blows that little theory out of the water

Barrera may be slightly more accurate but only slightly and pac is far faster which makes up for it. I would say barrera is a better all round boxer than manny however his style is tailor made for pac IMO

I don't consider Pac to be far faster. MAB's hands always moved faster than his body, and his slouchy looking style leads you to underestimate his handspeed. It also leads his opponents to underestimate his handspeed, which was always a good thing for MAB.

The biggest difference I can see between MAB and Pac, and the one that made the difference in their fights, is that Pac had far more energy. He went berzerk in every exchange and ended up finishing the exchanges. MAB tried to keep up and just couldn't do it. I think a prime MAB would have been much more capable of a true back and forth war with Pac. Would he have beaten him? I dunno. Pac is a hell of a fighter, but it would have been a different fight against a MAB who could fight balls to the wall from the opening bell to the finish and I would have liked to have seen it.

Does what you think matter? Or the two judges who saw the fight live and at arm's length? Move on, Pac beat him twice including the 1st fight where a judge admitted he made a mistake in scoring.

 

At the end of the day.....Majority of ESB FANS will say MAB has a better resume (even the professional sports writers included Mab in the 10 best fighters of the decade)
