I'm not going back and forth because you are in denial and it will never be a ending story pure was of time, But the facts are Canelo officially beat ggg Mexican style and will forever be his daddy no matter what you say, In fact Canelo will end up rank higher in ATG than ggg, Helll ggg should be lucky if he even makes itit ggg resume is one of the weakest right now, Now go cry to your mother's basement
GGG fans are still very sore and torn up about what happened. They still even after all these years can't accept what Canelo did to GGG and continue to spin and lambast their way trying to redefine what happened to convince themselves and others that GGG beat Canelo. Unfortunately for them, GGG lost and was lucky to get a draw the first time, they should be thanking their lucky stars that GGG got that draw as Canelo bested the G man both times, and that was a Canelo who was moving up in weight and wasn't even close to his prime yet.
Who cares about what you think clown? Your posts follow this simple formula. Praise Mexican fighters - bash everyone else. You contribute nothing of substance to this board and are the worst kind of fight fan.
Canelo still has 6 years left in the sport to cement his legacy, Donaire has done impressive stuff in his career and being the oldest boxer to win a world title at 118 is historic, but hes on the tail end of his career, and suffered some pretty bad losses throughout, while Canelo is at his peak knocking out guys and isnt slowing down anytime soon. As of rn its Canelo for me, but Donaire has had one hell of a career and is an ATG, and top 3 best filipino fighters of all time!
You can't honestly be saying his opposition isn't A level when he's had guys fight him like Darchinyan, Mthalane, Montiel, Mathebula, Nishioka, Burnett, Narvaez, Arce, Vetyeka and Oubaali. They'd all be firmly A to B level fighters. As far as they go, those are all very good wins. All of them were beaten around their strongest periods and most were beaten decisively. People underrate the smaller fighters' talent too much just because they don't have as much starpower (which would have people placing them highly on the talent brackets more often without much doubt).
People forget how rightfully highly ranked Darchinyan, Montiel, Nishioka, and Narvaez were. Those were A-level wins at the time and hold up very well since. Still A-level wins.
Let's look at their records side by side, their greatest achievements: Canelo has two competitive loses to GGG to Donaire's competitive loss to Inoue. Canelo has a loss to Mayweather and Donaire has a loss to Rigondeaux. Victories over smaller older guys archinyan x2, Montiel, Narvaez, Arce, Nishioka vs Mosley, Cotto, Khan, Trout Canelo's got Smith, Jacobs, and Saunders along with a close competitive loss to Lara and a very questionable knockout victory over Kovalev vs Oubaali. It's Canelo by a comfortable margin. It would be a lot closer if Nonito had beaten Frampton, but he didn't. Besides beating Jacobs and Saunders, Canelo's minor losses to Lara and GGG speak well of his abilities for how close he made the fights. It's too bad that Nonito never got a piece of Shinsuke Yamanaka or Leo Santa Cruz. That could have done something for him.
Tell me how ATGs that went from flyweight king to be Bantamweight king. Then I will tell you how many Middleweights that become LHW top dog. You start.
Manny Pacquiao, Fighting Harada, Nonito Donaire, and Naoya Inoue. In a four belt era with day before weigh ins Fidel LaBarba or Peter Kane would have done it too. Canelo is a junior middleweight champ who became a light heavyweight champ. The list of guys who did that are Tommy Hearns, Ray Leonard, Mike McCallum, and Canelo Alvarez.
